The Discussion Guide on Rabies is a comprehensive tool designed to facilitate structured community dialogues on rabies prevention and control in Ghana. Developed by a multisectoral team including the Ghana Health Service, Veterinary Services Directorate, and Breakthrough ACTION Ghana, this guide provides health educators, community workers, and One Health partners with simple, step-by-step prompts and key messages to engage audiences on rabies-related topics. Covering symptoms, transmission, prevention, treatment options, and safe animal handling, the guide addresses misconceptions and promotes timely care-seeking and responsible pet ownership. It is tailored to rural and urban settings and aligns with national goals to eliminate human deaths from dog-mediated rabies by 2030.
