The West Africa Breakthrough ACTION (WABA) webinar series “Focusing on Compassion for Better Family Planning and Reproductive Health Outcomes” shares the approaches the project has used to build trusting relationships and more holistic family planning/reproductive health (FP/RH) outcomes.
Join us at 10 a.m. EDT on September 27, 2023, for this final webinar in the series entitled “How to ensure frank communication about FP/RH with young people.”
Talking about FP/RH is not always easy, especially in certain contexts in francophone West Africa where taboos can impact access to care. These conversations can become even more sensitive when talking to young people.
In this webinar, WABA invites you to explore a promising approach to facilitating community communication about FP/RH between adults and young people called “Empathways.”
Empathways is a card deck activity developed by Breakthrough ACTION, and adapted by WABA for use between young people and adults to overcome taboos and facilitate sensitive discussions about young people’s access to FP/RH information and services.
Come discover this unique tool, its use in communities in Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Niger, and Togo, the results of these efforts, and the adaptation of the Community Empathways tool for family use by the Amplify-FP project.
