By integrating social and behavior change (SBC) into each stage of the service continuum (before, during, and after services), the project improves the acceptability, accessibility, and quality of services, as well as overall outcomes. Applying SBC approaches to service delivery enriches the overall care experience for clients and providers, resulting in increased satisfaction, trust, and health-seeking behaviors. Breakthrough ACTION offers summaries of the literature, capacity strengthening resources, case studies, and practical tools for integrating SBC into service delivery efforts. These resources are adaptable across various health domains, reflecting their broad impact in strengthening service delivery through effective social and behavior change integration.

Understanding Challenges
Breakthrough ACTION collaboratively developed the Malaria Service Delivery Assessment Tool: Four Steps to Identify Challenges and Opportunities to provide national malaria programs with a structured, holistic, and participatory process for investigating and responding to service delivery concerns. Such tools can empower providers and other health system actors to truly understand the challenges impacting services within a given facility by applying a behavioral lens.
