Community Data for Action Platform Launch

,

The Kingdom of Eswatini launched the Community Data for Action Platform (CDAP), an innovative online resource to help community leaders make informed decisions and improve the HIV response through data-driven decision making. With funding from PEPFAR and support from Breakthrough ACTION, CDAP offers a user-friendly data collection and visualization tool that allows Chiefdoms to analyze and use data such as the location of health facilities, condom distribution points, churches, and HIV activities to coordinate multi-sectoral responses. CDAP is being implemented in over 140 Chiefdoms across the Kingdom. During the launch event, the Honorable Mduduzi Dlamini, Minister of Tinkhundla Administration and Development, said, “Our traditional leaders have a big role to play in the reduction of new HIV infections that will allow us to achieve His Majesty’s vision of an AIDS-free generation. This will be made possible by the skills and tools that [Breakthrough ACTION] is giving to our leaders.” Her Excellency Ambassador Lisa J. Peterson remarked, “The U.S. Government, through PEPFAR and its implementing partner [Breakthrough ACTION], hopes that our investment in the Community Data Action Platform will provide skills and tools so that community leaders drive the prevention, care, and treatment agenda at the local level.”
