Employing social and behavior change approaches and processes like human-centered design and the Community Action Cycle, Breakthrough ACTION and its partners have endeavored across these areas to conduct media campaigns to sensitize community members on disease prevention, develop and strengthen risk communication and community engagement activities and strategies, and address provider behavior change to improve clients’ attendance and experience of health facility services.

Provider Empathy
Empathways is a card deck designed for one-to-one use between young people and family planning (FP) service providers in provider training or other contexts. The goals of this tool are to develop empathy among FP providers for young clients and to use this empathy to catalyze more youth-centered FP service delivery. The cards were adapted in Niger for use between youth and community leaders who impact FP norms.
