Nigeria’s maternal, newborn, and child health and nutrition (MNCH+N) indicators have improved recently, but further efforts are needed to address persisting challenges. Breakthrough ACTION-Nigeria led a human-centered design assessment in 2022 that led to insights about the influence of ingrained traditions and practices on MNCH+N behaviors. This case study illustrates how engaging with religious and traditional leaders can help address practices and improve MNCH+N outcomes.
