The initiative aims to amplify the adoption of priority health behaviors and is operational across 12 counties, focusing on the health areas of malaria; maternal, newborn, and child health; family planning and reproductive health; adolescent health; nutrition; water, sanitation, and hygiene; prevention of priority zoonotic diseases; and integrating COVID-19 vaccines into routine immunization. Through partnerships with the Government of Liberia and other key stakeholders, Breakthrough ACTION seeks to develop innovative social and behavior change interventions at scale and enhance local institutions’ social and behavior change capacity for better health outcomes. The project has focused on improving integrated social and behavior change programming coordination, strengthening capacity, and promoting the use of data for decision-making.
