The Empathways tool is a three-round card deck designed for one-to-one use between young people and family planning service providers in provider training or other contexts. The deck comprises a series of discussion prompts intended to spark rapport and joint reflection between these two groups. The goals of this tool are to develop empathy among family planning providers for young clients and to use this empathy to catalyze more youth-centered family planning service delivery. Since the tool’s release in 2021, Empathways has been adapted for use with different audiences and for different health goals. Explore the impact and results of Empathways and download case studies to see how the cards have been used around the world.
